Maelstrom

Wait
until
the maelstrom
encompasses
my soft voice.
Then return
home.

Got this idea from a wonderful poet's blog I started to follow, as well as coming across the word "maelstrom" on another blog. That is such a powerful and rythmic word (I think "The maelstrom is near."-RUSH-No One at the Bridge- Don't lose any sleep if you don't know what I'm talking about ). Anyway, I love that word, so I tried this septolet. It was fun.

  1. Ha! Are you a ditto-head or a leftie?

I also love the word "maelstrom," as well as the phrase, "sturm und drang." Something about the way these words roll off the tongue, and I always read other's poetry aloud.

You're very good at forms! I liked this very much and will be back! Amy BL

  2. Thanks, Amy.
Though I can't be too good at this form. I screwed up the syllables!
So, I'll say it was inspired by the septolet form.
