Life During Wartime

This is probably my favorite Talking Heads song. I absolutely love every syllable of it. But here's part of a verse that is really interesting to me.

I got some groceries, some peanut butter
To last a couple of days.
But I ain't got no speakers. Ain't got no headphones.
Ain't got no records to play.

That make anybody wanna write anything?

Ain't got no jelly, ain't got no bread
But I do have me a spoon
So when the roof of my mouth becomes unstuck
I'll sing some peanut butter blues

  2. Nope, but it does make me want to listen to talking heads again! Great entertainers!

  3. @Sally: Not the direction I was thinking. But that's because I dread peanut butter. I do feed it to my youngest daughter right out of the jar.

@Mutterer: Yeah. I love me some Talking Heads. One of my absolute favorite bands.
